i woke up to find a horrible smell in my cupboard but there was nothing there i was so puzzled.

As the teachers got into their positions the girls were off. The boys felt excited, well, except for me. I was trying to save stamina for the netball courts so I don’t feel I'm walking on hot coals. Mr. Pie was not running so that got me a little comfort. Then, there were the words, “On your marks, get set and go!” I jogged and made sure that I didn't trip over anything, so, as the netball courts were just around the corner, so, I got ready to sprint. Suddenly, Smack! I fell to the ground.

My mum

Because she has looked after me for my whole life.

She also has a nick name for me which is munice.

My mum is always cuddling and kissing me and that makes me feel safe around her.

That’s some reasons why I look up to my mum and I love her lots.

Glowing red eyes

Glowing red eyes peer into my room, I quickly put my head under the covers and say to myself it’s only a dream, it’s only a dream but it wasn’t, it was real. I make a little hole so I could see out of my covers it wasn’t there anymore, I sigh with relief it’s gone. I ran out of my room to tell dad, but something stopped me it was that thing with red eyes again and it was right at my feet, I scream with fear. It was light so I could see it better it was brown and hairy and it had sharp teeth too. Then... I wake up thank god it’s just a dream

The Giant By Ella

THE GIANT

Once upon a time I lived in a huge castle with a huge servant her name was Maid. She had long brown hair that went to her feet, she also had brown eyes, and she had a very nice personality.

One day a little girl named Emma ran into her kitchen saying “I’m starving please feed me,” and before she knew it she was in the middle of the tall woman’s kitchen. Then she quickly ran out again yelling “AAHH!!!” The tall woman cried out to the little girl saying “It’s alright, I’m nice but my master is very mean.” “In fact, here he is now! Quick get into my cupboard.”

Fee fi fo fum

 I smell the blood of an English man.

Be he live or be he dead,

I’ll grind his bone’s to make my bread.

“No, no master there is definitely no human in here you’re probably smelling your chicken” “Feed it to me servant” “As you command masters.”

When he finished his chicken he called his servant Maid to bring him his hen that laid golden egg’s which had at least one thousand dollars in. He yelled at the hen to lay five golden eggs. The hen got such a fright that he quickly pooped out five eggs. Then it ran off the table just in time to see Emma run out of their castle and down the path to the giant tree that was poking out the end of my garden. The little girl slid down the giant tree saying “HIRA!!!!!!” I ran after her saying, “I HATE YOU!!!!” But, by the time I got to the tree she was already on the ground cutting the tree with an axe. I try to slide down the giant tree faster but she already dug a hole. The giant tree fell over the hole and I fell in it and died.

Emma and her mother lived happily ever after.

UFO attack by Cameron F

Me and my friend Dallas were having a sleepover at my house.  Dad served dinner; orange jellyfish and a metre long pink crab.  I had never been served that before.  I ate dinner slowly wondering why dad served disgusting food.  Dallas and we went to bed, I heard a noise, and I looked out the window.  I saw a UFO!  I raced to Dallas, woke him up and told him I saw a UFO outside.  LOOOOOOK!  He fainted.  I dropped a bucket of water on him and told him to get a knife, get changed and find armour.  I told him my plan.  I said “We just run out, jump into the UFO and kill all the aliens.”  “This is suicide,” he said.  We ran outside with out weapons and armour.  WE killed the aliens and took over the UFO.  Before we knew it, about 1,000 UFO’s were around.  I used the UFO’s plasma guns to shoot down a few of them.

Stephan Feck representing Germany puts on his focus face ready to jump.  1, 2, 3 Jump!  He does a forward flip doing a pike.  Oh No! He loses his grip, curls into a ball trying to save him self from failing.  Too late, he’s on his back… Smack!  An explosion of water reaches for the air like fifty water guns squirting in to the air.  Bad luck for Germany definitely no gold medal for them.

Margaret Mahy Report

Margaret Mahy, 76, was a famous former librarian at a one of the public libraries in New Zealand.  She was also a teacher.  She had cancer that started early April and died of it on the 23 July 2012 at 3pm.  She was a great author in New Zealand.  She has 2 sisters that are older and she also had a younger brother.  She has one daughter.

She wrote her first book when she was 7 and it’s called “Bad Harry.”  She has since written over 200 book, but only 100 picture books, 40 novels and 20 collections of short stories were published.  Her books were translated into 15 different languages.

In 1980 Margaret Mahy became a full time author and went on to win numerous awards and honours for her country.  She also won premier children’s book awards.

When She was a little girl her mother forced her to bring, buy, fetch and carry everything around Governors bay in Christchurch, which was her home town.

John Key was at her funeral and it was a sad day for New Zealand.

If I could ...

If I could …

If I could go back in time it would be to when I stayed at Heath’s house.  I would redo our nerf war when I threw that grenade.  I would look at my aim for my shot.  I made my base out of sticks and Heath thought I was a bush and hid at the bottom of the sticks and leaves.  I left a little hole to shoot through.  But, I missed and he found me and tried to shoot me.  But, they just got stuck in the twigs.  But I got more ammo.  I would shoot them all!

If I could ...

If I could be the best of the best I would be famous and rich.  I could be on the TV just like Hamish Carter and the other people that are going to the 2012 Olympics.  They have been selected because they want to be famous just like Hamish Carter.  He competed in 2004.  Sarah Ulmer was the fastest biker in New Zealand.  When she was a little kid she did not like sports at all.  One day she got a bike and she started to bike around everyday.  One day she hopped on her bike and rode it as fast as she could.  She practised everyday.  She had 5 hours practising until she got older.  She got selected to go the Olympics 3 times!

Once upon a time there was a young Maori who had great power .His name was Mitai . He had the power to turn into any bird of his choice and play with the god of the wind Tawhirimatea .But luckily his brothers were not jealous they had their own strength’s. They did not like anyone but themselves unlike Mitai, until one day the seven brothers were hunting when they brothers heard the most beautiful singing so they followed the singing all the way to the top of the hill .Once they got to the top each brother fell in love right away but Mitia. He knew that this was wrong, he warned his brothers that these fairy women were not their type. But Mitais brothers ignored Mitai.  Mitai‘s brothers took the fairy women back to their small village to make the fairy women their wives.  Mitai’s brothers no longer cared for their garden or themselves. Their wives did not eat anything but seafood.  Mitai realised that his brother’s wives never seemed to leave the house. Until one day the oldest brother noticed that his wife was nowhere to be seen. He called and called for her. But no one answered.  Mitai Decided that he would go out into the wood’s to see what was going on .While Mitai was hiding behind a tree he noticed 6 fantails sitting on a branch  ,then a seventh fantail flew out of nowhere then they all transformed back into fairy women and planned to starve their husband’s .  Mitai rushed back to his brother’s and warned his brother’s about their wives plan. At first his brothers ignored Mitai but Mitai would not let his brothers die so he proved it. He got his brothers to look at each other, then they noticed that they were no longer strong they were now the opposite. What are we going to do?  Asked the oldest brother. We must go to our grandfather. Answered Mitai . He will have a solution. So the seven brother’s went to their granddad , and he had the perfect plan. And he told his grandchildren that if they wanted to be safe from their wives they would have to send them far from earth. So then he gave each brother a magic net. So each brother hid behind a bush, waiting for their bird wives to come. A few minutes later each brother saw seven fantails flying above their heads. The birds landed on one of the nets. Each brother folded over the net they had very quickly. The seven fantails transformed back into fairy women. The fairy women pleaded and pleaded to let them go but the brothers would not let their evil wives go. The brothers carried the nets over to Mitai, who transformed into a huge Albatross and carried the heavy nets all the way up to the god of the heavens Urutengangana.  Mitai asked Urutengangana to take these cruel women far far away.  So Urutengangana agreed to take the fairy women away from earth.  But Urutengangana gave the fairy women a chance to shine each winter.

Ella's Spooky Story

“That was so freaky,” I yell as I run down the stairs.  By the time I get to the bottom of the stairs Ameria has snot coming out of her nose we were cracking up. Then we heard the sound of a hand squeaking down the banister and the sound of foot step’s as if someone was walking down the stairs. So, we went back up to listen.  To see if it would happen again.  It did!  But it sounded different.  It was like someone stepping on wooden steps instead of the carpeted ones we had had walked up.

I wonder… was it a real ghost?
